Our Forest school is based at Manor Farm Allington Road, Grantham, Lincs, NG32 2EJ

Mission statement and overview of Forest school ethos

Key principles-

  • Take care of yourself
  • Take care of others
  • Take care of the environment

Children are intrinsically motivated to learn and they do so by exploring the world around them. At Whitehouse Farm day nursery, we aim to foster a sense of wonder to guide rather than compel and to provide room for possibility rather than attempt to constrain children’s interests to fit within a certain curriculum. Our aim is to support children to be ready to face life, to overcome challenges and to bounce back when difficulty arises, to have respect for cultures and environments and a desire to engage within their communities. We want children to be able to regulate themselves, navigate interactions and friendships with others and above all else be happy and real in all they do.

Forest school sessions are provided on a Tuesday and Thursday for the Hedgehogs during term time. The session runs from 9.30-1.30 and includes lunch which the children are activiely involved in using different cooking methods over the campfire.
